Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God, which continues for the rest of our lives. It is the first step in response to God’s love and marks the entry of a person, adult or child, into the Christian community of faith.
In the baptism of a child, parents and godparents commit to travel on that journey with the child – encouraging them and supporting them.
If you would like to arrange a baptism at St Alban’s, Church, please come to a Sunday service and speak to one of the clergy. You will be given a baptism pack, including a form which should be returned to the parish office to book a date.
We have a Baptism preparation session on a Saturday morning for parents and godparents. This is a chance to reflect on your role as parents and godparents and gives an opportunity to explore your own faith – which must be secure if you are to help the child who is being Baptised. More information about baptism can be found on the Church of England website via the links below.
