Junior Church takes place during the first part of the Sunday Service. The children rejoin the congregation during the part of the service called ‘The Peace’.

9:30am on every 2nd Saturday of the month at St Alban’s Church. Everyone is welcome

Returning to the full and proper use of the chalice at Holy Communion
Bishop Martin recently wrote to his clergy about  the ‘recovery of the use of the chalice’. We have, therefore, now returned to the full and proper use of the chalice. Some people will, in good faith, still be vulnerable to Covid infection. The individual decision not to receive the wine for that reason is recognised and respected. According to our beliefs as Christians, receiving in one kind (only the bread) is considered to be no less ‘effective’ than receiving in two kinds.
We kindly ask that you do not dip your wafer into the cup. The wafers, having already been in each person’s hands before they go into the wine, can impart any of the germs on your hands into the wine. It is also not uncommon for fingers to go into the wine. Dipping the bread into the wine also has implications for those who are gluten intolerant, as traces of gluten are more likely to enter the wine.
