At St. Alban’s Gossops Green – During the COVID-19 Pandemic

St. Alban’s

Re-open for Private Prayer

Following the revised Government guidance during this COVID-19 pandemic, we are delighted that the PCC have agreed to open St. Alban’s Church for private prayer.

With the resuming of Sunday Services from the 9th August and to allow us to maintain a COVID safe environment, the Church will now only be open on 1 day each week for private prayer.

Private Prayer – Thursdays between 1pm – 3pm

When attending the Church, please observe the precautions that we have all become accustomed to, including social distancing and the use of hand gel which will be made available, on both entering and exiting the Church. Specific details to enable safe use of the church are given on the entrance doors and inside the building.

Both the main entrance and rear doors will be left open during the above periods, to enable both accessible access for all and a one-way system through the church.

For your safety, we ask that you remain in the nave during your private prayer and that you do not move the chairs from their marked positions on the floor or venture into taped off areas.

Thank you and God bless.

Resuming Sunday Services in Church

We are delighted to let you know that we have resumed Sunday Services at 9.30 am each week.

To comply with the Church of England and Government guidance on public worship the services will be very different from what we are used to and, because of social distancing measures, limited numbers will be able to attend on any given week.

If you would like to attend please book through the parish office by 2pm on each Wednesday.
Email office@stalbansgossopsgreen.co.uk or ring 01293 344 860 on Wednesday only.

Please be sure to wait for confirmation that you been booked in if you email or ring and leave a message. Please give a contact number for confirmation and for track and trace records. If, following the service you find you have symptoms, please let us know.

Due to the limited numbers we are able to fit into the church this will be on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis. If capacity is reached you may be asked to wait until the following week. Online services will continue for those who are unable to attend.

Face coverings by all those attending is now compulsory for places of worship, from the 8th of August, as  per government guidlines issued on the 31st July.

There will not be toilet facilities available at the present time, neither will there be a Junior Church or crèche provision.
See the end of this email for more information about how the services will be arranged.
